HISTORY

Formerly known as Holzfeind, we, the Kohlhuber Family, bought this old-established inn in November 1991 and converted it in to a modern facility with 23 guest rooms and 58 beds. Since the Grand Opening, we have become one of the Styrian Village Inns and were awarded the Archduke Johann Prize in 2000 as an industry leader in the district.

We also offer catering and party services for every occasion. We can supply custom services for weddings, birthday celebrations, etc., no matter where in the District of Leoben they take place.

We have been members of the tourism associations HerzBergLand and Delight Full (Genussreich) since 2009. We offer special local products and some local beverages as well.  We work closely with farmers in the region and partners who value nature and natural products.

We were also included in the Styrian Federal Economic Chamber’s list of Musician-friendly restaurants and taverns in 2010 by Gottfried Hubmann BA.

The original Holzfeind property became united once again in June of 2016 with the purchase of the neighboring land and structures. The adaptation of these extra buildings has allowed us to expand by adding six more guest rooms for a total of 29 rooms and 66 beds.  

We do hope you feel at home here and that our staff is able to help you relax for a bit, enjoying our excellent food and drink at your leisure.
